SOOT - A sustainable colourant

The conception of this beautiful idea was in Chelsea college of Art and Design University of Arts London in 2016. The passion for sustainability and the burning desire to find a sustainable solution as regards to colorants used in the textile industry lead to research and analysis on a common air pollutant. After many trials the black flaky waste substance found in the chimneys was converted to a useful resource. The technique used for printing is also a sustainable method ensuring reduced consumption of natural resources.
